Fantasy Helper lets you view and download information about your Yahoo Fantasy Sports leagues and teams. This page explains what the site collects, why, who it is shared with, and how to have it removed.

Information we collect

When you create an account

Accounts are created by signing in with Yahoo. When you do, Yahoo provides us with your email address, your name, your Yahoo profile image, and your Yahoo user identifier (GUID). We store all four so that we can identify your account and match it to your fantasy teams.

Access to your Yahoo Fantasy data

Signing in also grants us access tokens that let the site read your fantasy data from Yahoo on your behalf. We store these tokens so you do not have to re-authorise on every visit. They are read-only: the site cannot make changes to your Yahoo account or teams. You can revoke them at any time from your Yahoo account security settings, which immediately ends this site's access.

Your fantasy league and team data

League, team, player, and matchup information is requested from Yahoo when you open a page and used to render that page. We do not store it in our database. It is held briefly in the server's memory to avoid repeating identical requests, and is discarded shortly afterwards.

Server logs

Like most websites, we keep operational logs. Each entry records the date and time, your IP address, the email address of the signed-in account, the page or action requested, and any identifiers included in the request (such as a league ID). Logs exist to diagnose faults and investigate abuse. We do not log the contents of fantasy data responses.

We do not keep logs for a fixed period. A log file is archived once it reaches a size limit, only the three most recent archives are kept, and older ones are overwritten automatically. How long that takes depends on how busy the site is.

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. It expires after one hour of inactivity and does not track you across other websites. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

How your information is used

We use the information above only to:

  • sign you in and keep you signed in;
  • retrieve and display your Yahoo Fantasy data;
  • send you account emails, such as email-address confirmation;
  • respond to messages you send through the Contact page; and
  • keep the site working and secure.

We do not sell your information, use it for advertising or profiling, or use it to train machine-learning models.

Who your information is shared with

  • Yahoo — requests for your fantasy data are sent to Yahoo's API using your access token. Yahoo's handling of your data is governed by the Yahoo Privacy Policy.
  • Microsoft Azure — the site and its database are hosted on Azure.
  • Our email provider — account emails and automated error alerts are sent over SMTP. Error alerts can include log lines, which may contain your IP address and email address.

We do not share your information with anyone else.

Other people's information

Fantasy leagues include other managers. Where the site shows another manager's team, it displays only what Yahoo returns for that league — typically a team name and, where Yahoo provides it, a manager nickname. We do not store other managers' details, and we do not collect their email addresses.

How long we keep it

Account information and Yahoo tokens are kept for as long as your account exists. Accounts registered but never confirmed are deleted automatically after six hours. Logs are kept as described above.

Your choices

  • Revoke access — remove this site's permission at any time from your Yahoo account security settings.
  • Delete your account — send a request through the Contact page while signed in, and we will delete it. Deletion is complete: it removes your email address and name, your Yahoo user identifier, your profile image, and all four stored Yahoo access and refresh tokens. Nothing about your account is kept afterwards, apart from server log entries, which are overwritten as described above.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.

Questions about this policy, and requests to delete your account, can be sent through the Contact page. We use the form rather than publishing an email address so that it does not get harvested for spam; because you are signed in when you use it, it also confirms that the request is genuinely yours.
